Marine Board vs Standard Plywood

Marine board uses waterproof phenolic glue (standard plywood uses water-resistant glue), has no internal voids (standard plywood may have gaps), features premium grade veneers throughout (standard uses lower grades internally), and is specifically manufactured for wet environments.

Working with Marine Board

Cuts cleanly with standard woodworking tools, edges should be sealed before exposure to water, accepts screws and nails without splitting, excellent for routing and shaping, and finishes beautifully with marine varnish or paint.
